Our field tile are available in all the colors of our glaze palette. The size system used for our handmade architectural tile is based on nominal sizing. This means that a four inch tile actually measures three and three quarter inches square. No you are not getting cheated! This size system makes design work vastly simpler. The four inch designation includes the final grout line in it's measurement. This allows design work to be based on a four inch grid. In other words three four inch tiles will actually fit into a twelve inch space. There are many manufacturers using many size systems but to us this seems the most straight forward and sensible. It is also the system favored by many historical tile makers. We can make field tile to a different size system if you require, as may be the case in restoration work. There would however, be an extra charge for mold retooling. Most of the time however the nominal system works just fine and is much easier to deal with.
The field tile shapes shown above are just a sample of what is available. We can easily accommodate whatever size and shape requirements you may have. Octagons, hexagons, triangles,diamonds, puzzle pieces are all possible.
